Welcome Letter

To Our Clients, Colleagues, and Friends,

Are you worried about Skynet yet? Or maybe you are more optimistic and think AI will lead us to a future where a high universal income will render "work" an obsolete concept? Regardless of where you fall on the spectrum of "AI worry," one thing is certain: There was a lot of talk about AI in 2025. But that wasn't the only thing people were talking about. Turns out, there was plenty to discuss.

In a year defined by rapid change, constant headlines, and competing narratives about what the future (including the future of the legal profession) might look like, one thing mattered more than anything else: clarity.

Clarity in judgment. Clarity in advocacy. Clarity in how we serve our clients and each other.

That idea—clarity amid change—is what ties together everything you’ll see in this 2025 Year in Review.

Like many organizations, we spent this year navigating a marketplace full of noise. New technologies promised transformation overnight. Long-standing assumptions about how legal work is done were questioned. The pace of business accelerated, expectations sharpened, and the margin for error narrowed.

Our response was not to chase trends or to resist them reflexively. Instead, we focused on what has always defined DTO Law: disciplined thinking, sound judgment, and accountability for outcomes.

That focus showed up across the firm in tangible ways.

In the courtroom, our litigators delivered meaningful victories for clients facing high-stakes disputes—wins that came not from shortcuts, but from preparation, strategy, and execution. In the boardroom, our transactional lawyers crafted deals of significant value by leveraging both decades of experience and artificial intelligence. Behind the scenes, we continued to refine how we work: investing in systems, processes, and tools that allow us to be faster where speed matters and more deliberate where precision is required.

We also invested in our people. We welcomed new talent, strengthened our teams, and made time—intentionally—for connection. From firm-wide gatherings to smaller moments of collaboration and mentorship, 2025 reinforced something we believe deeply: Great outcomes are the product of strong teams.

We are proud of what we accomplished in 2025. More importantly, we are confident in how we accomplished it.

Thank you for being part of our story—whether as a client, colleague, or partner. We look forward to continuing the work together.

Best,
